Eisfedern
Eisfedern 2009One of the big dreams of humankind is to copy nature and exceed it with that copy. In this work, Katrin Paul aspired to capture the scenery of winter mornings when everything is covered with a thin and beautiful layer of ice. Katrin Paul tried to copy this ice layers, moreover, aimed to make them lasting even in the hot Japanese summers.
The work's fragility also stands as a metaphor for our fragile ecosystem and the violation humans do to it.
Eisfedern 2009*人類の大きな夢の一つは、自然を真似て、その真似した物が本物を超えることである。
この作品でカトリン・パウルは、すべての物が薄くてきれいな氷の膜に覆われた冬の朝の景色を表現したいと思った。
カトリン・パウルはこの氷の膜を真似して作ってみようとした。
しかも、日本の真夏でも消えないものを。
この作品のもろさは、私たちの壊れやすい生態系と人間がその生態系を壊すことへの比喩でもある。
